Frequently Ask
Questions
Brothers &
Sisters,
As you are aware we recently reached a tentative agreement with
Canadian Pacific Railway. You will soon be asked to choose between
ratification of the Memorandum of Settlement (MOS) and renewing the
strike mandate.
There is a large
amount of information for you to review and many opinions
on what the the MOS means to you. In an effort to ensure that TCRC members have the accurate information and
the answers they deserve
we have created this FAQ page. We hope this page will help clarify
the MOS while dispelling inaccurate information.

Question:
How are the benefit contributions for Dental & EHC plan
determined?
Answer:
They will be calculated based upon the actual costs
associated with Dental & EHC benefits for Running trades employees
only in the previous year. This amount excludes the administration
fees paid to Manulife by the Company.
The formula to determine the amount to be deducted from each pay
will be as follows:
- Total benefit cost for the previous year / average number of
employees for the previous year * 10% / Number of pay periods.
- The joint union management committee will review the numbers
before they are finalized.

|
| |

|
| |
2006 |
$3.12 |
$3.37 |
|
| |
