Ballot Process

Reference the concerns raised by Brother Hnatiuk regarding the
accessibility of the ballot return percentages for Division 355 as
well as additional concerns that were outlined in his correspondence
of February 13, 2005 regarding the CP Memorandum of Agreement.
As you are aware, to ensure that the ballot process was beyond
reproach, we retained E. Wayne Benedict, Barrister and Solicitor
from the Law Firm of McGowan Johnson to investigate and oversee the
process of collection and count of the membership’s mail-in ballots.
Enclosed you will find a copy of Mr. Benedict’s overview and
comments regarding the process. I believe the report speaks very
clearly as to the integrity of our ballot process and to those who
have been involved from the outset. This information, coupled with
the previous correspondence put out by your respective offices, will
clear up any misunderstanding that may have occurred over the past
few days.
Please provide this information to all CP Divisions at your
earliest convenience.
Sincerely and In Solidarity,

D.J. Shewchuk
